MELCAYA 4th General Assembly in Tübingen, Germany & European MELCAYA Patient Day 2026

The 4th General Assembly of the MELCAYA project successfully concluded today at the University Hospital Tübingen, marking a pivotal moment for advancing research on melanoma in children, adolescents, and young adults (CAYA).

Experts from across Europe shared updates on all work packages, from risk factors and molecular progression to AI-driven diagnostics, immunotherapy efficacy, and health policy strategies.

The event wrapped up with a dedicated Patient Day, offering direct insights into the unique needs of young melanoma patients and providing hands-on support to empower them. This patient-centered focus reinforced MelCAYA’s commitment to translating science into real-world care improvements.

Big Thank you to Susana Puig, the leader of this tremendous European Project! As a pediatric oncologist working in the field of rare pediatric tumors I am deeply grateful for the outstanding cooperation with dermato-oncology experts, molecular biologists, and patient organizations from all over Europe – your passion and partnership make breakthroughs possible for CAYA melanoma prevention, detection, and care.
